At first, the difference between the 2020 Armada and the 2020 Pathfinder might be unclear, but many things distinguish these two three-row SUVs from one another. Here’s a summary that will help you decide which model is better suited to your needs.
If a robust towing capacity is something that you’re after, the 2020 Nissan Armada should be your pick. This model brings the more powerful performance of the two, with a 5.6-liter V8 engine that can tow up to 8,500 pounds. Plus, its 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque is enough to provide a satisfying performance in such a large SUV.
The 2020 Nissan Pathfinder has a slightly more modest performance, and thus does well at balancing power and efficiency. A 3.5-liter V6 kicks out 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque and can tow as much as 6,000 pounds, all while delivering an EPA-estimated 27 mpg highway, and 20 city.*
Both the 2020 Armada and the 2020 Pathfinder offer four-wheel drive, so you can get solid traction from either choice.
The Nissan Armada is the bigger of the two SUVs, so you’ll find more space for passengers in its cabin. There is seating for up to eight, and plenty of room for cargo as well. Its fold flat seats can take the 16.5 cubic feet of space behind the third row and increase it to up to 95.4 cubic feet of storage space when both rows are folded down.
If you don’t need quite as much space, you’ll be comfortable in the Nissan Pathfinder, which seats up to seven and has 16.2 cubic feet of space behind the third row. Its folding seats can create up to 79.5 cubic feet when needed.
Both of these models come with luxurious tech amenities, like USB ports throughout the cabin, standard infotainment, and rear view cameras. Between the two options, the Nissan Armada offers the most in the way of premium features, as it adds a standard 13-speaker audio system, which is available for an extra charge in the Nissan Pathfinder.
